Faculty Art Show Review

  1. Sky Writer by Patricia Dye.

Patricia's sculpture was not only appealing visually, but also took use of bells to give a charming, relaxing sound to it. The round wheels at the bottom had three bells attached on both sides, and rotated slowly. I really liked this piece because of its incorporation of sound and the rustic appearance of it.

2. Corner Flora by Josephine Durkin

This piece really caught my eye, not just by its large size, but the abstraction of it and the coloring. I really like the use of sharp lines contrasting with the softer colors, which is also reflected in the name; corner, being sharp, and flora which associates with softness.

3. Where are you? by Robert Bird

This piece is really brightly colored and uses a combination of multiple textures. The green and orange 'bubbles' were smooth in texture, however the purple was thick and stuck out away from the art. I found it quite funny exactly how much paint was used to make the painting so textures.
